Video Surveillance System Solution for Banks

 

As Grade I risk unit, banks can be characterized by multiple scales, diversified important facilities, various visitors and management in involving variety of fields. Banks, also serving as the main circulation space for currency of modern society and an important element of national economic operation, is providing service for all walks of life with its unique function and advanced technology and its business is related to large amount of cash, securities and valuables. The requirement for the current video surveillance network of bank is to build a video surveillance centralized management system for the same bank within the same city, integrating each vault, bank business hall and ATM self-service bank governed by the same bank to establish a real and unified surveillance management platform rather than several individual monitoring islands. Under the management of the platform, all the managed objects, i.e., originations (branches, sub-branches, vaults, self-service banks and so on), equipment (monitoring equipment, audio equipment, alarm equipment, storage equipment and so on) and systems (monitoring system, alarm system, access control system and so on) are to be integrated into an organism to collaboratively and consistently serve the monitoring and management objectives of bank so as to help the security sector of bank and public security organs understand the site situation and support by coordinated actions timely to greatly reduce the investment in human resources.
        The solution adopts an IP video system with distributed architecture which is equipped with encoder and decoder, HD IP camera, CVSS central network storage server and video distribution server provided by AVTrace Electronic Technology Co., LTD, and also utilizes the resource management server and operation workstation of AVTrace so as to provide the security sector with the most humanized and most easy-to-operate management platform easy to apply centralized management. 1. Business hall, ATM self-service bank and vault:
        The front-end system is composed of signal acquisition device, remote-control action equipment, video encoder, HD IP camera and CVSS storage server.
        The signal acquisition device includes video and audio system, alarm signal acquisition device and other analog acquisition devices and is composed of pinhole camera, sound pickup equipment, alarm, infrared sensor, door sensor and smoke sensor. The function of the device is to provide all sorts of signal acquisition functions for the front-end of monitoring system, such as video, audio, vibration, smoke, illegal invasion and other abnormal signals, and the acquisition of relevant parameters.
        Video encoder and HD IP camera, the most important equipment in the whole system, are in responsible for encoding and compressing the analog signals such as the acquired video, audio and alarm into digital signals, and transferring them to the remote monitoring center room through telephone network, broadband Internet or private network as per the standard network communication protocol. Meanwhile, the digital control command issued by the monitoring center room can be converted into analog signals to be sent to front-end equipment such as electrical equipment and alarm equipment. Therefore, an unattended and efficient operation mode of monitoring at the front end can be achieved. Furthermore, the local storage is to be established for all the front ends so as to avoid blank video caused by transmission failure.
        2. Centralized monitoring center
        The centralized monitoring center, the brain of the whole remote centralized monitoring system, is responsible for the management and control of the whole system. The monitoring center of the system is divided into two levels: the monitoring and control center at business hall level and the centralized monitoring center at branch level. The computers at the centralized monitoring center and all the monitoring sub-centers are interconnected by a network so as to realize the transmission and exchange of data.
        The monitoring sub-center at business hall level has simple structure and function and is composed by CVSS storage server and operation workstation (CM) to locally store the camera video signals for the local business halls and transmit them through network. Moreover, the sub-center is also equipped with client HMI to display the current status and alert information of the monitored objects, and store the historical data and conduct statistical analysis for the query required by administrative staff. The encoded signal can be uploaded to the superior monitoring center through the network for remote management by the superior monitoring center.
        Set in the computer room of headquarter, the monitoring center at branch level, as the core of the whole system, is composed of resource management server (RM), video distribution server (VDS), operation workstation (CM), decoder and TV wall with big screen. The center can monitor and control the monitoring front-end with multi channels under the unified operating platform and interface. As the spire of the whole system, the centralized monitoring system is to comprehensively manage various resources of the system and provided with many functions such as remote monitoring and control, alarm, configuration, security management, reporting, communication management, display and printing. The field equipment monitoring can be conducted by the computers at the monitoring center of service department, which are also provided with remote access function. The data server, being not only the storage center of the document and database but also the core of the network, is responsible for processing the definitions such as data, authority management and fault-grading of the monitoring system.
        When the system is established, due to the importance of the front-end camera and background video, AVTrace has proposed an Intelligent Diagnosis and Analysis System (IDAS) for the financial users to establish a perfect self-diagnostic function for the system, which supports the diagnosis for HD and SD images; the running state of the unattended system (comprehensive health conditions, such as the image definition of camera, whether the signal source is normal, whether the network transmission is normal, whether the video exists and the continuity of video) can be achieved by using IDAS and health status report is to be generated regularly and submitted to users so as to detect the fault of the system (especially the fault of recording) as soon as possible; therefore, the whole monitoring system can be operated normally and stably, which help the users to minimize the human resource input to the operation and maintenance of the system and maximize the benefit.
